Fall Asleep Meditations

You want to sleep peacefully, without a mind that is in overload of processing everything from the day, without strange dreams…..just peacefully

If you are familiar with Meditations you know that there are different ways to meditate. You can meditate on just purely relaxing music or sounds, you can meditate out in nature, you can do a guided meditation but you can also do a “fall asleep” meditation.

A “fall asleep” meditation is basically a guided meditation with a kind of hypnosis in it as well. Because of the hypnosis aspects in it, the meditation and the guided voice is still working for you in your subconscious, even though you are asleep and unconscious basically.

If I had a very busy day or watched a pretty intense movie for example, I can bet on it that I will dream a lot, but then a lot of weird stuff. I won’t say nightmares but still things that don’t make sense or are confusing or leaving me with a weird feeling when I wake up in the morning.

Almost every evening I either do a meditation just before going to bed, or I do a “fall asleep” meditation while in bed and just snooze off during the meditation. And it really helps with putting my mind at ease, no weird dreaming and waking up with a much better feeling.

I find the “fall asleep” meditations basically on YouTube and my favourite channel for these meditations is called “Unlock Your Life”. They have meditations with different subjects so I’m sure you can find one that suits you best as well.

I like to say, keep on dreaming but keep it at peace!

Sunday Blues

“Sundays are not often anymore what they used to be, but You can still create that kind of a Sunday for yourself”

These days we live in times where we basically having a 24/7 society. Lots of people work on Sundays, shops are open and it basically seems like one of the ordinairy days of a week. Sunday is not “special” anymore for a lot of people.

I come from a time, and that seems like I’m feeling old but I’m not ;-), where Sundays were really Sundays. Nothing was open like shops or malls, the only place where you could get something when you forgot something was the petrol station, or even the little shop in a hospital, as places like that it never stops of course.

Sunday was for a lot of people, going to church, having a coffee after, going back home, preparing lunch, do a bit stuff in the garden, read a book……relax. These days, a lot of people don’t experience Sundays like this anymore, and it’s a bit of a shame, I feel, as the Only day in the week, where we should really take advantage of to Relax and Wind down should be the Sunday.

Of course, there are still enough people who Are able to have a “lazy” Sunday and do some stuff in the garden, read a book, listen to music, play a game etc. But still, Sundays are not the Real Sundays anymore.

But you Can create a Real Sunday for yourself if you want to, it’s simply Allowing yourself to have a Real Sunday, without feeling “guilty” as you might think you “need to do stuff”. Of course, if you have a job that requires you to work on a Sunday or you have  other obligations which you can’t avoid, then I recommend you have a Real Sunday at any other day during the week.

These days we have to Learn that it’s okay to have a day where we don’t Have to do things, when it is Okay to take time for yourself or for what you like to do and when it’s Okay to just Relax and Recharge your batteries so you’re ready for the new (work) week to start.

I speak to a lot of people and I realised that there are many people who don’t Allow themselves to have some down-time. As they Feel they Need to do “this and that” no matter if it’s Sunday or their only day off in the week. They feel “guilty” when they have not done certain things but been “lazy” instead.

Why do we “punish” ourselves this way? There is Nothing wrong with having a day to yourself, without feeling the Pressure that you Need to do “this or that”. We actually Create this for ourselves, so we are Also the ones who can Change this. Ask yourself, Why do you feel you need to keep doing and doing? Don’t you feel you Deserve some “me-time”?

Instead of Enjoying the Sunday for the fullest a lot of people start already thinking about the next day, Monday, to get back to work and all the things that need to be done, they start already to stress out while Monday is not even there yet! Why would you do that to yourself? Why start stressing out on a Sunday already for a day that still needs to be born?

Allow yourself a Sunday, relax, do whatever you feel up to. Want to stay in bed all day, do. Want to go out for a walk, do. Want to play a game or be creative, do. Whatever it is you like doing and what makes you relax, enjoy and wind down…..Do it. Allow yourself time pure for yourself, your family and loved ones, your hobbies etc.

Stop pushing yourself! Learn to Relax and Allow.

I wish you a Lovely Sunday, with lot’s of me-time, fun, joy, relaxation and rest ;-)

The importancy of your Environment

Sitting here and working in a local cafe in Leeds, Oranaise Cafe. The environment is relaxed, nice music, not too much people, lovely foods and drinks.

Change of environment can do much for you. And then I don’t speak about literally moving away from the environment where you live ( though this can sometimes be really beneficial as well ), but more going out when you feel a bit “bored” or “trapped” in your home.

I can work at home pretty fine, I have everything I need there, it’s comfortable…..but, it also can be “dangerous” in terms of not being able to concentrate really well or bring your Mindset to a certain state you want it to be.

Getting yourself into another environment, and this can be anything you like and feel comfortable in, gives you sometimes the opportunity to focus on other things, to relax the mind, to be open minded to new and creative ideas….

Like today I decided to go to Oranaise Café in Leeds, my daughter works there as a waitress, and I brought my iPad to work on for a bit. There’s nice music in the background, I have some fresh water in front of me, some olives…..and this environment makes me very productive at the moment.

Sometimes being at home you can be easily distracted from what you like to focus on, or thinking about other “jobs” you “should” be doing or you can easily be “blocked” as well as your mind wonders off too much.

I really like to change environment to work in as it always gives me a boost to work in. This time it’s a local Cafe, next time it might be the Park or another nice place to be in.

Whenever you feel Blocked or Distracted too much, try to go “out”, even when it’s just for a walk to get some fresh air and then get back to what you want to focus on. It really helps!

Never underestimate a change of Environment, it does more for you then you might realise.

Enjoy your Day for the fullest!

The Great Benefit of Yoga

image

I discovered Yoga already a while ago as a very beneficial tool for bringing your Body and Mind in total Balance.
Though before that time I always thought Yoga was a bit boring to practice and lots of exercises and positions hard to do.

But once I started to try it out,  also because it goes very well in combination with Meditation I experienced it was not so bad at all!

When you start with Yoga you are of course not be able to do the Acrobatic positions straight away,  and to be honest,  I’m still not there yet, still not experienced enough to do them ;-).
Starting off with the Basic positions is already great to Feel and recognize the difference for your Body and Mind.

For me, the best time of the day to practice Yoga is early Morning. It gives you Such a high amount of Energy afterwards what will support you through the day.
Yoga is for me also a kind of Meditation on its own as you focus on the exercises, positions and your breathing which automatically helps to relax and ease the Mind.

Many people still think that Yoga ( with just the basic positions) won’t improve your Body in a muscular way like with a lot of other sports. But actually it does!
The whole combination of your Breathing and the Exercises helps to remove toxins from your Body. And when toxins are being removed from your Body it benefits not only your Health but also contributes with Weight loss. It’s also a very good exercise to get rid of Cellulite! Also again because of getting rid of the toxins in your Body.

When you feel stressed or have a lot of things on your Mind it’s a great solution to use Yoga, and even better in combination with Meditation, to calm your Mind. When your Mind is on ease without tension and worries you will feel Physically much better as well. As you might know, stress and worries really drains your Energy what of course has a huge effect on your Body.

Important also is to drink a glass of light warm water before you start with Yoga and drink much water afterwards through the day, also to keep working on removing those toxins.

When you for example practice Yoga early morning and do a Meditation before you go to bed you keep your Body and Mind in perfect Balance. The Yoga is a great start of the Day as it provides you enough Energy throughout the Day and help you start the Day with a Fresh, Clear Mind and the Meditation at Night will help you to clear out your Mind from everything through the Day again so you can prepare for a good night sleep ( without having all these thoughts and stress still running through your mind which can cause a restless night or even insomnia ).

So when you are looking for more Balance and Peace in your Body and Mind,  Yoga and Meditation are very Powerful and Beneficial.

Have fun!  :-)
